Welcome to the Official Website for the petition to Save the Mummy Franchise. Here you can view all the latest information regarding the Universal Mummy Film Franchise and our efforts to save it from being ultimately destroyed by director Rob Cohen with writers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. NEW: Check out our DragonCon 2008 Gallery! As 2008's 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' continues to drag this beloved franchise into the darkness, Universal has already announced development of the fourth Mummy film 'The Mummy: Rise of the Aztecs.' After the horrible reception of The Mummy 3 we can't begin to understand why Universal would give a green light to the same men who massacred the original story that started it all. After all, The Mummy 3 in just over two weeks has yet to earn enough money to cover it's budget and is currently the laughing stock of nearly every major media publication. The replacement of Rachel Weisz, Fred Boath and the exclusion of Oded Fehr is just the beginning of the end of this series. With the deeply untalented Maria Bello and inexperienced Luke Ford, we can all but say farewell to a film franchise that revived Egyptian myth and lore. A franchise which has inspired children to become archeologists. Because we, the die-hard fans refuse to let this happen quietly, savethemummy.com has been created. Here you can view the truth behind why Rachel Weisz was replaced and her real desire to come back to the franchise. Here you can read real statements by Brendan Fraser that Universal Pictures doesn't want you to see. Here we will explain the break-down of profits for all of the Mummy films and give solid proof that The Mummy 3 is a failure by comparison. Here you can read reviews from all over the world. But most of all, here you can join the ranks of true Mummy fans by reading and signing the Official 'Save the Mummy Franchise!' Petition. The petition which will be sent to Universal Pictures in hopes that our voices will be heard. A petition which was started August 10th 2008 and with very little promotion has managed to gain up to 35 signatures per day since it's inception. With savethemummy.com now in action we expect the support to triple. With that said we thank those of you who have signed for your support. For those of you who have just arrived we urge you to explore this site and join us, whether casual viewers or die-hard fanatics, we all can make a difference.
